Whenever you get to feel intense excitement and happiness overload, you say “euphoric” but what if you are so excited and happy to get your new pair of shoes off the store rack, you say “shoephoric“. Yes, you have read it right shoephoric.
Shoephoric is the first social network for shoe lovers created and founded by the multi passionate technopreneur, Ann Jacobe.
She has a degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering and Masters in Information Technology that is why she’s always been into technology and I.T. and business on side. But she’s also passionate with shoes. A certified shoe lover. Asked how many pairs does she have, she quipped “more than a thousand (smile)”.
And just like any other women who has a huge footwear collection, she ended up wearing shoes which comes to her view first. That’s why she decided to create her personal shoe organizer. Because of her I.T. background, Ann created her shoe database wherein she can simply browse from her shoe album in her computer.
EC: Why buy if you have a lot?
A: I’m inlove with shoes. But as much as possible now, I try to give a pairs away every year.
After being featured on a local magazine, Ann’s personal shoe organizer became an online community that connects shoe lovers not just in the Philippines but worldwide.
According to Ann, her first stint in the information technology world was in 2003 where she created an application, a portal for symbian phone. A mobile added value for a large telecom company in the Philippines.
EC: You already have the online community, why create an App?
A: So that it will be easier to reach members from all over the world. App is more active.
EC: Why become an entrepreneur?
A: It allows me to pursue my passion. Through my online community, I will be able to inspire women to chase their dreams and take risks.
Aside from Shoephoric, Ann is also the CEO of Youphoric Labs Inc., Founder of AppStart Academy, Co-Founder of The Playground 2.0 and Creator/Founder of Ann\’s Dairy Free Ice Cream.
EC: So, if you’re not into business, what will you be doing?
A: Dancing! I love dancing! Argentinian Tango. That’s why I have a dance studio, our playground.
…i hope that through my passion, I am able to help local cobblers too, to bring them to bigger market.
