- Alpha – come from highly metallic elements such as radium and uranium. Only harmful if occur inside the human body.

Point of note is that young children and fetuses are the most at risk due to their heightened sensitivity to radiation. Their cells can get damaged a lot faster than an adult. Being aware of your surroundings is necessary in such cases – Prevention is better than cure.
