The National Basketball Association of USA continues to produce great basketball players in the world. It does not only help every player in NBA to excel in their skill and talent but give the rare opportunity to earn enormous amount of income annually.  With the huge dollars that players get, many are able to establish their own business, purchase properties and acquire luxuries in life.  One of the most famous and legendary NBA players of the 80’s and 90’s, wearing the Jersey number 23 of the Chicago Bulls, is Michael Jordan, a hero, a billionaire entrepreneur, a philanthropist and a team manager.   Here are Jordan’s tips to achieve a success in life.

Commitment

The game is my wife.  It demands loyalty and responsibility, it gives me back fulfillment and peace.

When one engages in a given work, it is expected that the person will dedicate wisely his/her time and efforts.  When the work has been done accordingly, there is certainly peace of mind from the honest worker.

Be selfish and humble.

To be successful you have to be selfish, or else you never achieve.  And once you get to your highest level, then you have to be unselfish.  Stay reachable. Stay in touch.  Don’t isolate.

There is nothing wrong in trying to harness first your skill and talents before others in the workplace. Being “selfish” means a way of perfecting oneself.  But, this does not signify that once achieving perfection, the goodness in you will not be shared. For one cannot be perfect unless others have not contributed to him/her in making so.

Create self-expectations.

If you accept the expectations of others, especially negative ones, then you never will change the outcome.

Listening to negative opinions may hinder you to change.  The situation will remain as expectations from others control your own decision.  Have your own personal discretion and expectations which will result to new great change in the situation.

Be Positive.

Always turn a negative situation into a positive situation.

There are challenges apparently to discourage you in your way to succeed in life.  However, you can survive from them by thinking some positive ways. Do not be restrained by barriers of life rather be optimistic, confident and persevering to achieve positively your aspiration.

Success through failures.

I’ve never been afraid to fail.

I’ve missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed.  I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life.  And that is why I succeeded.

Great men are not made in one day nor they follow a design crafted by the passed artists.  History witnesses the successful athletes in the different World games like the Olympics, EUFA, FIBA, ASEAN, UFC, WWE, NBA, World Boxing, their constant and rigid training brought them into the pedestal of champions despite of many obstacles.  They stood firm and moved on to reach the trophy of pride and victory.

Make no excuses.

Failure gave me strength. Pain was my motivation.

A defeat must not be given by any excuses.  There is always a way to succeed.  Perhaps there is a better way to get improvement in training or attempt to finish  the work or race with colors. Do not blame yourself or others lest you would be a loser or quitter forever.

Every practice is like it’s the championship. As a result, during the game it was an instinct.

Whenever you prepare for a big event, always think that you are getting ready to your competitors now.  Constant practice makes one better, optimistic and perfect in execution and builds strong self-confidence.  As Michael Jordan said: “I play to win, whether during practice or a real game.  And I will not let anything get in the way of me and my competitive enthusiasm to win.”
