But at the same time, you will also need to note that the HRs of an organization holds a unique position within the company. Their core job is to make sure about the wellness of the employees and also help them to cross any hurdles. But, they work for the same organization where you work. And they will only help you if they feel that you can bring betterment to the organization. 

Most of the HRs will do anything to get you out of the rough spot as they are passionate about helping the people and takes their job seriously. But, when someone takes their job too seriously, it means that they only want to make themselves beneficial for the company. They want to be in the good books of the manager. So, they will only keep the high-productive employees only. But, if anything demonstrates that you are not going to live up to the goal of his/her, then they will disclose any vital information which may harm the company, which will make eventually distraught your career in that organization.

Most of the time, you shouldn’t, rather you won’t have any harsh relationship with your HR as it will turn out to be harmful to your career. But, there are numerous reasons which suggest that you shouldn’t be too friendly with your HR as well and keep things up to a limit.   • Doing extra hours somewhere? Keep it with yourself


Most of us need to do moonlighting to support our family, needs, and lifestyle. This is very normal for us all. But, you need to make sure that it is a well-kept secret form your HR as he/she may not take the right way. Regardless of how separate you keep your secondary job with your primary one, but the HRs have grown a habit of dwelling on the negative side of it. They will start raising questions about your commitment, which will eventually jeopardize your position in the organization. So, repeat after me, “never will I ever tell my HR about my second job.” 

Now, let us move on to the second point. 


  • Don’t talk about anything that is not related to the office


Is there great distress in your life, or is anything not going the way you planned it? Having trouble with your relationship? Well, your HR is not your best friend, so don’t even think of sharing all these with him or her. But, if you are facing any trouble within the office, HR is the one whom you should it with. 


  • Don’t share details about your vacation


Came back from vacation recently and still excited about it? Well, hide your emotions when you’re in front of your HR. As said before, they have a habit of dwelling on the dark side of everything. So, the first thing that you need to do is have an attitude that you are done with the vacation, and you are now focused on your work. 


  • Have an office affair? Keep the HR out of it


Office affairs are totally cool until your HR knows about it. Once they know about it, it is time for you to either close the affair or your office paper. Because every time you screw up in your job, they are going to bring up the affair as a cause for it. 


  • Legally screwed your last employer? Don’t scare your HR with it


Trust me, the HRs always remain scared that someone will file a lawsuit against them, regardless of how clean they are. And they never want to jeopardize their position. So, the moment they think that they are going to get screwed up, you will find yourself at the pointed end of the sword. 

So, make sure that you are on good terms with your HR but never consider them as your best friend, as they are not for sure.
