There’s a saying that you cannot have the best of both worlds. But what if you can? What if you can work and earn, and still enjoy life. Here are some ways to balance your day time job, sideline, and personal enjoyment:
DE-CLUTTER
Being organized will help you balance different aspects of your life. It will also help you increase your productivity. If you are not the “organized “type of person, just do it one step at a time and you will feel the difference.
Start with designating a space on your house where you will keep all things related to your day time job and your side hustle. So whenever you go to that area, you’ll be in a mood to work.
Then proceed to organize each part of your house. Just do it little by little and see how you improve your productivity and your life as well.
PRIORITIZE AND FOCUS ON ONE TASK AT A TIME
Doing similar and related tasks at a time makes you more productive. For example, set aside time to just browse and answer important emails.
Set another time to make and send reports, and another time for planning. Make sure a task is finished or before jumping to another set of tasks. This way, you get the job done for a little effort and a little time.
DELEGATE
Another secret to creating and maintain life’s balance is you have to learn how to delegate. You have to accept that you cannot accomplish everything.
Get some help and delegate the task. You just have to learn to discern which things need your focus and which things that you can delegate. This is also true when it comes to personal life.
If you are working and earning, you can delegate simple tasks such as cleaning the house, washing the clothes, etc. You are working all weekdays, so dedicated your day offs to bond with your family and your kids. That’s balance.
REST AND RELAX DAILY
Is this possible? Yes! To achieve balance, give your mind and body a break every day. Do not try to finish the entire task every day. And do not “invent” a task, so that you will be busy. Pretending to be busy doesn’t mean that you are more productive.
Set aside a few minutes every day where you can sit in silence or listen to a soft music. You can also try walking or working out at least three times a week. This way you will be energized and refreshed when you go back to work and to your side hustle.
Life is not only about work and being busy. If you let yourself be caught up in a boring routine, life will pass you by. There are many things outside of work that you have to enjoy. And remember, you deserve to enjoy life.
