People start the new year with a lot of hope and brand new goals in mind. But, at the end of the year, they still don’t achieve the goals.
A healthier body, loses weight, achieve something, save money, and travel more; these are some of the goals that most of us wanted to reach.
Here are some tips to plan your 2016 that help you achieve it:
Block Your Schedule to Plan
Some people make goals just because they feel that they should have a goal. It’s true. However, the goal doesn’t really speak to what they really want. One of the reasons is that they don’t give themselves enough time to relax and breathe.
In order for you to make a compelling goal, you need to at least spend a day on thinking and reflecting. Look back on the past years. What are the things that you do best? What are the things that you need to improve?
Spend a quite time. Turn off your devices and give yourself the space to write your goals.
Focus on Your Core Goals
Are you still trying to be a superhero when writing your goals? You can aim higher but this time, do it one step at a time. A do-able goal is always better to start the year with.
For example, if your core goal this year is to have a healthier lifestyle, you can start with one health habit at a time. Begin with drinking at least 8 glasses of water on the first month. On the second month, try to walk around the block for 30 minutes a day.
The step can be simple but as the day goes, you can see that achieving it can be easier when you focused on smarter goals.
Reflect and Re-plan
Other events and emergencies can happen every day. These events can divert your attention, and makes you forget that you have a goal. This is the reason why you need to block 15 minutes every month to check if you are still in line with your goals.
Writing goals is a great way to grow and achieve. Reaching them at the end of the year can make you more committed and can bring more success.
